Important Reminders About Medal Qualifying Classes

1. CHJA Medal Class requirements state that only CHJA Members are permitted to compete in these classes.

2. For any class to count, at least four active CHJA members must complete both phases of the class.

3. Membership cards or numbers must be provided, or a membership application completed and appropriate fees paid at the time of registration for these classes.

4. If the 4th member of a Medal Class is a non member, the class will not count and points will not be awarded.

5. If there are only 4 entries in a Medal Class, we urge you to check with Show Management and make sure they have verified that all entrants are active CHJA Members! "Fillers" must be active members and can join at the
show.

6. Riders can only enter one Medal Class at any show

7. Riders can qualify for both the CT Children's and CT Pony Medal. If they qualify for both, they must choose only one to enter at Medal Finals.

8. If a rider has ever qualified for or shown in any 3' equitation final including the CHJA Junior Medal, they are no longer eligible to compete in the Children’s Medal.

9. If a rider has qualified for the 2008 Children's Medal Finals, that rider can step up and start showing in the CHJA Junior Medal classes, (earning points toward 2009)  during the period between the end of the 2008 qualifying period (when the 2009 period begins) and the actual 2008 CHJA Medal Finals, This period is approximately 2 weeks. However, if during this period you earned enough points to qualify for the 2009 Junior Medal Finals, you would then have "qualified for a 3' Equitation Final" and would no longer be eligible to show in the 2008 Children's Medal Finals.

10. A rider qualifying for the CHJA Junior Medal Final may choose to ride in either the Junior Medal Final or the Master's Medal Final. If a rider has ever qualified for any 3'6" (or higher) final prior to the end of the qualifying period for the current year's Medal Finals, (e.g., Medal/Maclay/Washington/USEF) they must ride in the Masters Medal Final.
