Important Information About the Cancellation of the 2020 Medal Finals

All points currently earned towards the 2020 Medal Finals will count towards the 2021 Medal Finals!

The extended qualifying period for the 2021 Medal Finals will resume on June 21 (or when the State of CT allows the running of horse shows, whichever comes first) and will end on the last day of July in 2021!

The number of points needed to qualify for the 2021 Medal Finals will remain at 10!

The 2021 Master’s Medal will be run at 3’ 3”.

All points currently earned towards the 2020 Hunter Classics will count towards the 2021 Hunter Classics. Remember that the points belong to the horse that earned them and are not transferable.

The extended qualifying period for the 2021 Hunter Classics will resume on June 21 (or when the State of CT allows the running of horse shows, whichever comes first) and will end on the last day of July in 2021.

In 2021 you must qualify in either the Children's Hunter Horse, Children's Hunter Pony or the Adult Amateur Hunter Division (Over and Under 35 combined) by being in the top 30  (an increase over the current 25) of the division with a minimum of 50 points at the end of the qualifying period.

The 2021 Hunter Classics will be run in the derby format.

Going forward the Hunter Classics qualifying period will be the same as the Medal Finals qualifying period starting on August 1, 2021 and ending on July 31, 2022 for the 2022 Hunter Classics.

Points earned towards 2020 Year End Awards will have point multipliers doubled until November 30th, 2020. Basic points are increased by point multipliers which are determined by the number of entries that complete the class.

Note: The 2020 Multipliers are effective as soon as the ban on horse shows are lifted in the State of CT

Juniors in their last year in 2020 will have any points earned in the 2020 Junior Medal qualifying classes transferred to the Adult Medal for 2021. They also have the option of competing in the Master’s Medal. Points earned in the 2020 Children’s Medal qualifying classes will be transferred to the Modified Adult Medal for 2021. After December 1, 2020 they must compete in the Adult Medal qualifying classes or the Modified Adult Medal qualifying classes if they are not yet qualified.

Additionally, for Juniors in their last year in 2020 points earned towards the 2020 Children’s Hunter Horse Classic will be transferred to the Adult Hunter Classic for 2021. Hunter Classic points remain with the horse that earned them and are not transferable to another horse. After December 1, 2020 they must compete in the Amateur Adult Hunters Under 35 if they are not yet qualified.
