President's Message

Welcome to the Connecticut Hunter Jumper
Association website.

This website was established as a link to the membership that would give each of you access to the activities of the Association. As a member, you have the ability to click on the biography page for information about the Board of Directors, check point standings, familiarize yourself with the rule book, track upcoming horse shows, find contact information on committees and research additional interests posted on our website. The website is a key component to serving your needs.

The CHJA is growing every year and I am committed to a closer relationship with the membership. As my first year as your President draws to a close, I am happy with the state of the CHJA. Our two major events enjoyed a record attendance. The Annual CHJA Awards Banquet drew four hundred and eighty-five guests to the Hartford Hilton in February and our CHJA Medal Finals Weekend at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in August continues to grow in popularity drawing exhibitors from 8 different states. The scholarships and awards given by the Association at both of these events are increasingly generous.

I am looking forward to an exciting second year as your President. It is a priviledge to serve with the members of the Board of Directors and various committees, each of whom volunteers their time and expertise to enhance the success of the membership. Their efforts have made our Association one of the largest horse organizations in the country. My thanks to them for their energy.
