Lynn Taylor

Lynn TaylorI live on Taylor Farm at Lilihaven in New Hartford, Connecticut. Lilihaven is the name of the property, after my German Shorthaired Pointer, Lily (who firmly believes I bought it exclusively for her running and hunting pleasure), and was suggested to me by the builder after he watched her run back and forth for hours on end every time she visited. Taylor farm is not too original, but it will do! The farm currently has six stalls, thirty-seven acres of fields with some woods and trails, bordering on twenty-five acres of New Hartford Land Trust trails. The barn has a two-bedroom apartment I have just finished renovating, but the next plan is to build a house and an additional ten-stall barn on the top nineteen acres. The architect is working feverishly...

I have nine horses: two retired (Mac 19 and Keeper 12), four in training at Folly Farm (Abe 16, Roscoe 7, Woodrow 4 and Gus 3) and three yearlings in Florida (two Schonfeld babies, one Rugged Lark baby). Unbelievably, with all these horses, I have no one to show at the moment, because they are all too old or too young!

Keeper ("MacPhail's Great Scot") was my most successful show horse but was retired in 1997. He helped me win three CHJA year End Awards and the Folly Farm Classic in 1997. He is really the inspiration behind my farm, because I wanted somewhere to retire him where I could keep him his whole life.

I was born and grew up in New York and attended Wellesley College receiving a BA in Russian Studies and International Relations in 1979. I earned my MBA at the Columbia University School of Business. I am one of the owners of Keiler & company, a full service advertising and marketing firm. Between all of my horses, and my job, I have no time for hobbies, but I love the ballet (and Chinese food) and am a devoted fan.

I am a member of the Connecticut Hunter and Jumper Association Board of Directors where I serve on the Equitation and Standards Committees.
