Connecticut Hunter & Jumper Assiciation President's Award
In Memory of Glenn Duffee
This special award, in memory of Glenn Duffee, is presented annually to recognize and honor someone who has given unselfishly to our sport and to the CHJA, above and beyond personal interests. The recipient of this award is chosen by the CHJA President to be honored by the Membership at the Annual Banquet.
2017 President's Award
No one works harder for the CHJA than Karen! For nearly 20 years, Karen has officially managed myriad duties for us, from Treasurer, to Medal Finals Co Chairman, to Standards and Scholarship Committee member. That’s a lot, but for those of us who work closely with her, this doesn’t begin to cover it. Behind the scenes, every single day, Karen is working on something important – sometimes alone, sometimes with other Board members and volunteers – all of which keeps the CHJA running smoothly.
Here’s a short list of what she might do in any given day: Want to see your point standings? Karen just updated it. Want to make sure your membership is up to date? Karen can help. Enjoying this lovely program and the Medal Finals keepsake program? Karen managed it. Need an update on the website? Karen will do it. Need to survey trainers about a rule change? Karen will send it out. Wondering if you paid for that show application or sponsorship? Karen will follow up. Are you entered in the Medal Finals? Karen knows. Amazed at the website upgrades that make it easy to apply for shows? Karen spearheaded that. Looking for Facebook updates? Karen will post it.
And for us on the Board, Karen is a resource, a history keeper, a nudge, a tireless supporter, a statistician, a rule enforcer, a cheerleader…but most of all, a friend. We truly could not do it without you.
